Under his leadership as President and CEO for over fifteen years, la Madeleine grew from a single location to total sales of $120M and 62 locations.Patrick was also the recipient of The Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 1993, the PBS Humanitarian Award in 1990 and in 1997 was chosen by Nations Restaurant News as one of the 50 “New Players – the next generation of power players.

Penelope Burk, author, trainer and President of Cygnus  Applied Research, Inc., has over 30 years' experience in not for profit management, fundraising, marketing and research. She has held management positions in both fundraising and communication in arts, social service, and sport/recreation charities and is today one of the most sought-after trainers in the sector.

A native of Montreal, Canada, her in-depth and varied career established her as a senior professional advocating innovative approaches to fundraising and marketing.  A highly sought-after presenter and researcher, Penelope has written two books and more than fifty seminars, training programs, articles, and plays especially for not for profit organizations. Her presentations are widely acclaimed as unique, engaging and among the most effective training programs in the sector today.

The Houston Chapter will host the AFP CFRE Review Course on February 26-27, 2012. The faculty list for the 2-day intensive session includes expert educators from across the United States and Canada.

AFP’s revised CFRE Review Course offers development professionals an opportunity to review the main components of a complete fundraising program. The two-day intensive program provides an overview of skills, techniques, and program components based on fundraising experience at the five-year level.
